Susan
R. Brimner RMT, CDTSusan's interest in wellness started with a diploma in Recreation Management. Susan's chosen career path was naturally in the study of health & wellness. In 1986 while studying at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy, she stumbled into her first class of Hatha yoga that proved to be the catalyst to her lifelong commitment and study in the art and practice of yoga. By 1989, Susan had established both a promising and growing home practice as a massage therapist as well as a respected teacher of massage at the D'Arcy Lane Institute in London. Either by providence or coincidence, it was here that she met colleague Karen Major who in later years would become a motivation and influential friend & teacher. In the following years, while under the tutelage of Karen Major, Susan came to realize that the specific props, techniques, and postures of the Iyengar method were the ideal match to her dedication and desire in achieving total wellness and holistic health both for herself and for others. In essence, Iyengar yoga guided her further in her journey of spiritual and physical harmony than any other discipline of yoga. Susan started her teacher training in 2005, at the Yoga Center Toronto under the direction of senior teacher Marlene Mawhinney.
